Why OceanWide Explorers?
ex·plor·er / noun
a person who explores an unfamiliar area; an adventurer
Two different people with one passion in common: the ocean. It brought us together in 2018 as we were both exploring the world in our own ways.
Since then, we’ve gone on hundreds of dives together, explored countless beaches, and even moved to an island!
Our ultimate goal? Explore the ocean worldwide. And as such, it only seemed fitting to deem ourselves the OceanWide Explorers!
Currently, we’re living in the US Virgin Islands working and playing along the shores of St. Thomas!

Freediving
One of the newer sports we’ve immersed ourselves into is freediving. It’s not Scuba and it’s not snorkeling – it’s more like, “let’s take one breath and see how deep and long we can go”. It’s an exhilarating sport requiring an immense amount of training and practice. But the good news is just about anyone is capable of doing it!

Sailing
While living in South Florida, we had a brief stint of owning a 14-foot Sunfish (the perfect boat to learn how to sail) before purchasing our 23-Hunter Marine Sailboat. We’ve since sold it, but are on the lookout for another boat to sail the Caribbean. Until then, check out our articles on sailing and boat ownership to avoid the mistakes we made!

Conservation
And what’s all this exploration for if we don’t strive to protect our oceans while we’re at it? Of course, we’re not perfect (no one is). But we try to do our part to explore and travel in a sustainable, ethical, and eco-conscious way.
