VIDEO: Spearfishing Lionfish in Fort Lauderdale
Throughout our time in South Florida, spearfishing lionfish in Fort Lauderdale was a weekly occurrence. This video highlights the day we shot the biggest lionfish we’ve ever caught!
Lionfish are an invasive species in the Western Atlantic and it’s up to scuba divers to rid our waters of them. It’s a fun, eco-friendly activity to get involved with. Oh, not to mention, they’re extremely tasty!
I’ve always recommended getting into hunting for lionfish for those looking to get into spearfishing. It’s the perfect segway that’s relatively safe and teaches you the principles of the hunt.
