Selecting the Best Scuba Diver Log Book
Our selections factor in a few things:
- Water Resistance: this is scuba diving, after all. In the ocean. Where it’s wet. Very wet.
- Ability to Refill Logs: you can find a plethora of dive logbooks for a fair price anywhere. However, many of these are limited to a certain number of dives with no ability to add refill pages.
- Looks. Look good, dive well. Or something like that…
- Travel Compatibility: having a log book that’s easy to travel with is essential. Otherwise, it’s easy to mangle and damage those valuable pages.
Hard Copy vs Digital Log Books
We get it. It’s 2021 and just about everything is digital – log books included. In fact, just about every scuba agency utilizes some form of electronic log book.
However, there’s still something to be said about a hard copy. You know, the same authenticity you get when reading a hard copy book as opposed to a screen. It just feels right. And for my own personal reasons, I just don’t trust the digital copies. Everything could vanish with the click of a button.
But to each their own. As for us? We’re sticking with some form of hard copy. It’s just good habit to have it right there, ready and able to show it off whenever you need.

These are the five best scuba diving log books we could find on the market (in no particular order).
NOTE: This is NOT review of specific log book pages. The pages you use to record your dives are highly personable. You want to record the data you want to record and we’re not one to tell you what you should or should not record during your dives. However, after the recommended log books, we do list a few log book refill pages we find useful.
1. PADI’s Adventure Divers Log Book
If you want to broadcast the PADI brand for all to see – this log book is for you. PADI’s three ring, adventure dive log book is useful to protect, store and record all of those epic dives you’re about to embark on.
You do pay a little more for the PADI name, but the utility of it stays the same. However, if you’re looking for a similar, but cheaper option, keep scrolling down.

2. Dive Logz’s Rubber, Water-Resistant Divers Log Book
I’d have to say this is my top pick for scuba dive log books. The sleek design, rubber exterior and interior versatility makes for a great product.
It’s a similar price to PADI’s edition above, but with more water resistance and better design.

Innovative Scuba Concepts Scuba Diving Log Book
For a fraction of the price, you can get a much more affordable product with all the same utility. Innovative Scuba Concepts’ edition of log book is a play off of PADI’s Adventure Binder without the PADI logo.
Essentially, it’s the same product with a different embroidery on the outside.
Innovative Scuba Concept’s Three Ring Binder
Trident Scuba Diving Log Book
Again, for a fraction of the price, Trident has dive flag designed 3 ring binder that functions in the same exact manner as Dive Logz’ and PADI’s logbooks.
Additionally, the only difference between Trident’s and Innovative Scuba Concept’s is the outside look. Whichever is more pleasing to the eye of the beholder is the way you should go!
